Anyone know if any government help is available to people on unemployment to help in the purchase of a home. Possibly with this stimulus package? All types of help is available to help you stay in your home, to avoid foreclosure, but is there any help for those of us who have already lost our home?

A friend of mine told that this was true in Texas where we live. She said that the buy the house from the mortgage holder and lease it back to the home owner with the option to purchase it back typically within a year. She says this allows the home owner to reestablish their credit score. Is this true.

Our mortgage was a variable rate mortgage, and my husband had lost his job and bills were out of control… We decided to cut our losses and do a short sell and avoid foreclosure (which had started). At this present time we are slowly regaining financial abilities even thru our country’s economic hard times…We want to purchase another home in about a year. Will banks see me as a risk, and deny me a mortgage because of my past situation?
