without going into the sordid details how i acquired a over priced slum house, I want to know if there is any problems quit claming the property back to the lender. The lender started foreclosure procedure and promptly stopped. Actually they got the judge to rescind the decree. I called the attorneys representing the lender why and they couldnt answer. I told them I would be happy to deed the property back to the lender but they told me they talked to the lender and they do not want to go forward and finish the foreclosure. It’s been almost 2 years since i paid any mortgage payments! The attorney believes the lender doesnt want this crap property on their hands with the maintenance and the headaches that comes with it. I dont want it. the city keeps sending me hate mail to mow the lawn and clean it up from the crackheads. I have done this already and don’t want to do this forever. No one wants the property I can even give it away. So can I quit claim it back to the lender.

I going through a rough time financially, can I request the bank to lower my interest rate – to reduce my payment – to avoid foreclosure? What other options can the bank offer to avoid foreclosure? I can’t/don’t want to refinance since I do not have the money and don’t want to get into further debt?

I am about to start the foreclosure process. I know the lenders will send mail, but is there a way to get them to stop calling my home and buisness? I heard that you can send a letter to the lender and they have to quit calling and can only contact you through the mail.

My wife went through a serious medical problem and the insurance did not cover the cost of the medical bills. We were unable to pay our mortgage, now it is almost 60 days late. We are worried and facing a foreclosure. How can we avoid it? Can the lender help with a back pay or add the back pay on our existing loan or modify our loan??? Has anyone been in this situation, please advice. Thanks.

I heard a person can surrender the keys to their home and sign the deed over to the mortgage lender to avoid foreclosure. Is this true? I guess this is seen on teh credit report still as a foreclosure, but it saves the lender some cost and you don’t go through as much pain and they forgive the debt. is this true???

My husband is a self-employed lobster fisherman, and last year he injured his back and was unable to work for 3 months. During that time, we fell behind on all our payments, and have spent an extremely stressful year trying to get caught up. Our current mortgage lender has demanded all back payments in cash before they will accept anymore payments from us. We could not come up with that amount, so we are now facing foreclosure on our house. I go to these websites of mortgage lenders that say they specialize in stopping foreclosure, but every time I talk with them on the phone, they tell me that they can’t help. Is there any company out there, or private lenders that will help on a refinance for a foreclosure bailout? I’ve even looked into hard money lenders, but they all seem to be for corporate loans. We had great credit until this happened last year.
