February 16th, 2010 - By

I want to get one credit card to rebuild credit. What’s the best one right now. I hear Capital One is a really bad one. We filed chapter 7 after losing a business and get tons of offers. I don’t plan on using it other than to just keep a small balance and show good payment history. We are working on getting back into a house in the next year. I’m About Face Foreclosure On My Home Of 33yrs. How Can I Get Help Stopping This Process?

February 12th, 2010 - By

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE….contact your mortgage company ASAP and explain your situation to them! Ask if you can reinstate the loan and borrow the money or sell something to pay off the payments that are behind! MANY times the mortgage co will work with you to set something up so you can pay the back payments and catch up…..Contact the loss and mitigation dept…..If they see you are serious, they will work with you…..The last thing they want is to foreclose on your home, its expensive and time consuming….Best of luck!

Help! How Do I Avoid Foreclosure On My Home?

January 13th, 2010 - By

We recently started a new business and things have been extremely slow so we’ve had virtually no income. We’ve been living off of credit cards and been unable to pay our mortgages(we have 2). I have now received letters of intent to foreclose if we do not come up with the money in the next 10 days. I am wondering what my options are. Should I just throw in the towel and let them take the house? I know my credit is shot but if it’s in my name only, would my husband’s credit still be ok? I just had a baby and we have a 4 year old. I think if we had enough time we could get the business generating enough income but I’m out of time. I don’t know what to do!

Only if there is some profit in doing so to them. Unfortunately, most are a scam. They will get an upfront out of pocket fee from you & then you will find yourself in no better a position than you were before you paid them their scam fee. (How they make money & stay in business)
You might be better off to call your lender and ask for a loan modification. If you don’t qualify for one now, ask what it will take to qualify for one.
