It’s very typical and very straightforward for homeowners to become confused about different choices to keep away from foreclosure. With so a lot of distinct approaches available, it becomes difficult to keep the final goal of each and every straight. As an example, homeowners could file bankruptcy to purchase additional time, but desire to give their residence back with a deed in lieu, but are also worried about being sued for a deficiency judgment afterwards.

For mortgage insured by HUD, you’ll find two types of special forbearance plan. The first kind need to consist of a repayment program that lasts for at least four months right after payments have been suspended for a time period. During the period of suspended payments, homeowners could be needed to make partial payments. The second kind of forbearance enables for a short-term repayment strategy to be combined with a partial claim or a loan modification.

We recently filed Chapter 13 to avoid foreclosure, but now I am thinking about letting the house go and changing to Chapter 7? We can’t afford the house mtgs, taxes and insurance on our reduced salary. Question – in a chapter 7 can the creditors (?) come in and take stuff from your house? If so, what are they looking for – high ticket items? We do not have any. Husband is afraid they will come in and take all kinds of stuff. I disagree. With all the foreclosures coming down right now, they do not have the time or expense to chase all these down.
What about the 2 cars we are behind on payments on?
Has anyone gone thru this?

I want to get one credit card to rebuild credit. What’s the best one right now. I hear Capital One is a really bad one. We filed chapter 7 after losing a business and get tons of offers. I don’t plan on using it other than to just keep a small balance and show good payment history. We are working on getting back into a house in the next year. We sold our house to avoid foreclosure and are currently renting.
