The dismal economy has had a negative effect on many families and industries, but perhaps one of the worst hit sectors of the country has been the real estate market. House values have dropped seriously, and the numbers of foreclosures have climbed to record heights as people struggle to keep abreast of their home loan payments. This has made a scenario where owners believe it’s easier to just give up and walk away from their home, instead of find tactics round the problem. One of those options is to go with a short sale, yet many of us do not understand how that works.

my first short sale
Greetings my name is Fred Weaver, this is Kevin Kauffman and we’re Group 46:10. We’ve completed over 400 short sales in the preceding 4 years and have a 90% success rate. Today we want to discuss short sales with Arizona Federal Credit Union. I have personally been a member at Arizona Federal Credit Union for about 10 years now. Not only do I have a great deal of experience with them as a consumer, but we’ve also completed numerous short sales with Arizona Federal Credit Union, as well other lenders out there. We get a lot of questions from customers like, “My credit union hasn’t really been that helpful to me in doing a short sale. They haven’t informed me if I even can do a short sale. Is there assistance for me out there?”

My mom and my step dad have declared bankruptcy one or two times in the last 10 years. My older brother now lives with them because his health hasn’t been so great for some time. Needless to say their credit isn’t so good after filing for bankruptcys. Now I hear the bank has gone to foreclose their home and they say to us, their adult children that they have their lawyer working on it but don’t tell us much else. My parents havent made such great choices about their money in the past so we are pretty skeptical. Not only that a majior reason why they are in this finacial hell is because my step dad fell for an internet e-mail scam. I and my brother am trying to help them as much as we can with our own practical smarts but they haven’t told us any details so far. From what we gather my parents could be housless come Febuary. What can be done to help them legally and, or what would you do about all this?
